Dancing With The Stars contestant Danny O’Carroll is very close with his dad Brendan, and now the patriarch has flown home from Florida to surprise his son on set
Danny O’Carroll had an emotional reunion with his dad Brendan yesterday while he was practicing his dance for Sunday night’s Dancing With The Stars.
The fan favourite, who plays Buster Brown in Mrs Brown’s Boys, shared a heartfelt moment with his dad on the set of the dance competition last night.
Brendan lives in Florida with his wife Jenny when he’s not filming Mrs Brown’s Boys and so far, he’s been cheering Danny on from across the globe.
Previously, Danny hoped his dad would be able to come back to Ireland to see him perform in the show if he made it to the final, but now Brendan has come home a week early for the semi-final.

The sweet moment was captured by Danny’s girlfriend Tina.
“He made it home for semi finals… Thank you Dad,” Danny captioned the sweet video.
Danny’s shock is evident in the clip, and the pair share a hug, with Danny becoming emotional.
“Stop the lights!!!” Anna Daly said underneath the video.
“Daddy’s hugs are the best and your Daddies hugs are even better,” Keith Duffy commented.
“Cannot cope [heart emojis],” Dancing With The Stars host Doireann Garrihy commented, with co-host Jennifer Zamparelli showing the love by also commenting a heart.
“Brilliant,” Brian McFadden said, while Danny’s fellow competitor Kayleigh Trappe said: “What it’s all about Buster. Proud daddy.”
Previously, Danny opened up about the close bond he shares with his dad.
He told RSVP Live: “Dad is my biggest supporter. Coming into this, I didn’t have my comfort blanket, which is my family, with me, but the support I have from them is blowing me away.

“He is living for Sundays now – all my family are. They are very supportive, I hope I’m flying the family flag well.
“I am used to the distance, but I still miss him like crazy. I last saw him at Christmas and haven’t seen him since,” he said.
“Once Dancing With The Stars is over, I’ll go on a trip to Florida and spend time with him.
“I could sit here all day and give you every compliment under the sun and nothing would come close to what he means to me. He is the most amazing human.”
Dancing With The Stars airs Sunday nights at 6.30pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player
