EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick seemed to announce he was leaving the BBC soap in a now-deleted post.
Earlier this week, character Jay Brown was left fighting for his life after being involved in a terrifying car accident He was rushed to hospital after taking drugs and trying to flee to Margate while trying to cope with the death of wife Lola.
And actor Jamie seemed to suggest that Jay had died and that he was departing the soap when he took to Instagram with a young snap of himself. In the caption of a now-deleted post, he wrote: “RIP Jay, gonna miss you lad. We had a laugh didn’t we.”
Ben, Billy and Callum were horrified by Jay’s car accident and were praying that he was okay. The trio held a vigil at Walford Hospital and were heartbroken to see him laying unresponsive on the hospital bed.
It was later revealed that Jay was in an induced coma during a phone call from Callum to Ben. “They said he ploughed straight into a tree. He’s got swelling on the brain and they’ve had to put him into an induced coma. I’ll call you when I know more ok.”
A devastated Billy stayed by his son’s bed and said: “We’re with him though. You’re not on your own anymore Jay because we’re here for you. We’re all here for you.” Ben broke down in tears at the sight.
He said: “Jay it’s Ben. I don’t know what to say. You’re my brother from another mother. Seriously, you’re my brother. And I need you to know that I forgive you and I need you to forgive me for everything I’ve said and everything I’ve done. Because I didn’t meant it. I need you to live Jay, I need you to wake up Jay. I need you by my side, I need my brother. I love you bro. I love you.”
Pleading with him, Billy added: “You heard them all. There’s so much love for you here Jay. Wherever you are now, you have to come back. You’ve got to fight because you have to live. Because you’re my son. You’re the son that I chose. I’m begging you son, don’t die. Please don’t die.”
Lexi told her stepdad: “I don’t know if you can hear me Jay. I know you feel bad but I don’t want you to feel bad. I just want you to come home Jay. Please. Please come home Jay.”
