Week three recap: The first celebrity has been eliminated from Dancing with the Stars after Blu Hydrangea, Katja Mix and Jason Smyth impressed the judges the most in studio
Rory Cowan has become the first celebrity to be eliminated from season seven. Dancing with the Stars.
The Fair City star and their partner Jillian Bromwich failed to impress judges Brian Redmond, Loraine Barry and Arthur Gourounlian and voting public at home after they had the lowest number of votes combined from the first three episodes.
They followed in the footsteps of Hughie Maughan, Norah Casey, Eilish O’Carroll, Yewande Biala, Cathy Kelly and Leah O’Rourke, who also left the show first.
Opening tonight’s show was Ireland’s Fittest Family presenter Laura Fox and her partner Denys Samson as they danced a Paso Doble to Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood by Santa Esmeralda.
Loraine Barry said: “I’d like a little bit more commitment to give you a stronger image. Of course Denys is shining in his white shirt, but he didn’t outshine you tonight.”
Brian Redmond said: “The characterisation of that paso was spot on from start to finish.”
Laura and Denys got a score of 23 from the judges.
Jockey Davy Russell danced with Laura Nolan last week, but he was back with his pro partner Kylee Vincent, who was ill last week, tonight. They danced a Samba to Iko Iko (My Bestie) Justin Wellington featuring Small Jam Break.
Brian said: “You’ve really bought into this process. It’s elimination night and I hope you haven’t fallen at the first hurdle.”
Arthur said: “It looked like dad dancing to me. Samba is a difficult dance, you need to have that fluidity and you struggled. You gave it 100 percent.”
Davy and Kylee got a total of 12 from the judges.
The third couple to dance tonight were singer David Whelan and his partner Salome Chachua. After his illness last week they danced a Viennese Waltz to Good by John Legend. Once again they impress the three judges.
