While walking on the pier, Chris got chatting to a local busker named Gerry and shared a video of him playing the banjo across Coldplay’s social media channels, exposing him to their millions of followers in the process.

Chris captioned the post: “So happy to be in Dublin. Pleasure to meet you, Gerry.”

Gerry is well-known to the locals in Dun Laoghaire as he often plays music by the pier. As it turns out, his brother is none other than Mrs Brown’s Boys and Fair City actor Rory Cowan.

Delighted with Chris giving him a shoutout, Rory posted on X: “That’s my younger brother, Gerry. He’s a great banjo and mandolin player. And look at him there playing his banjo for Chris Martin.”

“No way! Wonderful,” one fan replied.
