Brendan O’Carroll has no plans to run for president, despite being approached by the Labour Party, says his son, who is competing on Dancing with the Stars
The Mrs Brown’s Boys star Brendan O’Carroll has ruled out contesting the forthcoming presidential election, having already turned down an offer to join the Labour Party, his son has revealed.
Despite being “crazy about politics”, the 69-year-old comic has no desire to leave his home in Florida and follow in the footsteps of his mother, Maureen, who became Labour’s first female TD in the 1950s.
His son, Danny O’Carroll, who is competing for the glitterball trophy in Dancing with the Stars, told The Sunday Times that he once asked his father whether he would consider representing his native country.
