The Fair City and Mrs. Brown’s Boys favourite and his pro partner Jillian Bromwich left the competition tonight after ending up at the bottom of the leaderboard
Rory Cowan has hit back at the ‘harsh’ scores he received from judges Loraine Barry, Brian Redmond and Arthur Gourounlian on Dancing with the Stars.
The Fair City and Mrs. Brown’s Boys favourite became the first celebrity to be eliminated from season seven after ending up at the bottom of the leaderboard.
His Salsa to Macarena by Los del Rio failed to impress and he was only awarded 13 points. Rory wasn’t offended by their comments, but he wanted higher marks from them.
Rory told RSVP Live: “The judges have their job to do. I know they are right when they talk about technique and frame because after 64 years of slouching I am not going to get a dancer’s frame.
“Jillian was saying that to me since we started rehearsing.
“The judges are alright and I couldn’t fault them for their comments. I just faulted them for their low scores. They didn’t give me a chance.”
Rory has no regrets about signing up for Dancing with the Stars.
The Fair City star said: “I am 64 and I thought if I don’t do it now I will never do it. I did it and I am delighted I did it. It is just fabulous. I am delighted with myself. No regrets from me.”
Rory wants Jason Smyth and Karen Byrne to go all the way to the final and he wants Eileen Dunne to succeed after seeing her emotional waltz live in studio.
He said: “I like Jason and Karen and I like Miriam and Montel, I think they are great. Blu is just fabulous.
“Eileen’s dance tonight was just outstanding. I thought it was gorgeous. You have to be a certain age to get that story.
“When I saw her doing that in rehearsals, the tears were rolling. It was the same tonight. I hope they go very very far.”
