That’s nice! An Irish actor from Mrs Brown’s Boys is the second celebrity to join the 2025 cast of Dancing with the Stars.
The eighth series of the hit show will return to RTÉ One and RTÉ Player in January 2025 and see a host of famous faces take to the dancefloor.
Two stars from Mrs Brown’s Boys have already competed for the coveted glitterball title, including Eilish O’Carroll who took part in the show in 2019, and Rory Cowan who entered the competition earlier this year.
Danny O’Carroll, who is best known for his role as Buster Brady on stage and screen in Mrs. Brown’s Boys, is the second celebrity to join the cast!
Speaking about his decision to take part in the series, Danny revealed that he has ‘wanted to do it for the last four years.’
Explaining why now is the time, he said: ‘I have always been touring the UK with Mrs. Brown’s Boys in January, so it just wasn’t possible. But this year, we’re touring in Ireland for the first time in over twelve years, and I can commute to get the rehearsals in so it’s working out really well. I’m delighted to finally be able to do it!’
Danny also revealed that he is receiving huge encouragement from his cast members, including his aunt and former DWTS contestant Eilish who is ‘begging’ him to go as far as he can in the competition.
The actor insisted that although he is not a dancer and will be ‘well out of his comfort zone,’ he is going to try to do whatever he can to get to the final by giving it socks- that’s the spirit!
The first celebrity to be announced for DWTS 2025 is Irish model and former Miss Universe Ireland, Aishah Akorede.
The following nine remaining celebrity contestants are set to be announced throughout the rest of this week, and we cannot wait to see who else will be taking to the dancefloor!
Dancing with the Stars 2025 will be hosted by the hosts from the last few series’, Jennifer Zamparelli and Doireann Garrihy.
Joining the judging panel this year will be professional dancer Karen Byrne and longstanding judges Lorraine Barry, Brian Redmond, and Arthur Gourounlian.
