RTE Dancing With The Stars fans were in agreement after Danny O’Carroll delivered a stunning Viennese Waltz despite feeling physically sick during rehearsals – with many now seeing him as a strong contender for the final.
RTE’s Dancing With The Stars dazzled once again on Sunday night, with judges and viewers alike sharing their excitement over this year’s performances. Along the standout contestants is Mrs Brown’s Boys star Danny O’Carroll, who has been winning over fans alongside his professional dance partner Salome Chachua.
The theme last night was all about love, and Danny certainly felt the support from viewers – despite facing a challenge during rehearsals.
The actor admitted that the spins, turns and sways of his complex routine left him feeling physically sick during rehearsals. Host Jennifer Zamparelli even joked that she hoped no sick bags would be needed after his performance.
Despite the struggles, Danny delivered a stunning Viennese Waltz to This Year’s Love by David Gray, earning an impressive 34 points – two eights from Brian Redmond and Karen Byrne, and nines from Loraine Barry and Arthur Gourounlian. Fans were also were wowed, with many now seeing Danny as a potential finalist.
One viewer shared on X: “Danny is a lovely dancer. Definitely in the top 3-4. Finalist, maybe?”

Off the dance floor, Danny recently opened up about his new romance, expressing how lucky he feels to have found his girlfriend, Tina. The 41-year-old told RSVP Magazine: “Tina wouldn’t be used to all of this publicity, so it is nice to get her used to it and show her how things work in entertainment.
“She’s a bit shy, that’s to be expected. I love having her around. She’s an amazing girl – she’s a sweetheart and a darling. I’m blessed to have found her, she’s my No1 fan. She’s the most positive person I’ve met in my life and to be living with somebody with that positivity is amazing.
“I didn’t plan to come out and say anything because it’s my private life. I don’t want to blast around the relationship because I want to have respect for my kids and for my ex-wife. I don’t want to throw it in anybody’s face and we just want to move on with our lives. As long as everybody’s happy, let’s get on with it.”
