BOC-Pix Limited had current assets worth just over €1 million at the end of last year, newly filed accounts show
The entertainment firm of Mrs Brown’s Boys creator Brendan O’Carroll has reported accumulated profits of €737,004 in accounts just filed to the Companies Office.
BOC-Pix Limited had current assets worth just over €1 million at the end of last year, including a cash balance of €59,532.
The company made an annual profit of €91,044 during 2022, leaving it with accumulated earnings of €737,004 at the end of the year.
O’Carroll, 68, owns BOC-Pix Ltd with his wife Jennifer Gibney through another company. They are listed as directors of the company, along with Brendan’s son, Danny, 40, who plays Buster Brown in the hit series.
The couple received almost €2 million from the entertainment company between 2016 and 2018. They also netted €3 million in dividends from another firm, Mrs Brown’s Boys Limited, between 2015 and 2020.
Earlier this month, O’Carroll told Patrick Kielty on the Late Late Show that Mrs Brown’s Boys was becoming a big hit in the US.
“America’s going very, very well,” he said. “We’ve a tour lined up in 2025 and that’s really exciting. It’s after taking off on Britbox over there, and it’s taken off on Showtime.”
The show, in which O’Carroll plays matriarch Agnes Brown, began as a radio play on RTÉ 2FM in 1992. It was adapted into a film titled Agnes Brown in 1999, with Anjelica Huston playing the title character.
Stage shows, feature films, and a TV series have since been made, winning numerous awards and gaining popularity with audiences as far away as Australia, Canada and New Zealand.
There hasn’t been a new series of the show since 2013, but O’Carroll is currently working on a new instalment, recently telling RSVP Live that he was enjoying coming up with “fresh ideas”.
The latest accounts for BOC-Pix Ltd show the company was owed €986,889 by debtors, and a total of €309,415 remained payable to creditors of the firm within 12 months.
